JoSays. Red Carpet Awards | Met Ball 2015 | fashion

Rihanna or Kim Kardashian? Who got more attention at last Monaday's Met Ball? | Rihanna in Guo Pei
There has not been going on a lot on Jo Says. lately, but now I decided to have a new section on the blog; JoSays. Red Carpet Awards for major red carpet events. Of course there is no actual award, but there are categories in which the best dress will be decided. Tried to take this all serious.. please don't take it too serious though.

Emily Blunt in Prada
Kim Kardashian in Cavalli
First event in the line is the Met Ball. Let's see who wore what last Monday, May 4th at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York.
The Met Gala, officially called the Costume Institue Gala, is a fundraising Ball to mark the opening of the museum's annual fashion exhibit.
Every year they have a theme related to the upcoming exhibit. 2015 was dedicated to the Chinese fashion, the exhibition's title being "China Through the Looking Glass"

This is part one of the categories and their nomines. Please feel free to either comment, tweet, or comment (on IG pic) who the winners would be for you.

Georgia May Jagger in Gucci

Best Theme Enforcement

The first JoSays. Red Carpet Award is given to the dress that interpretes the theme the best, the dress that, if you look at it screams "China!".
Alexa Chung in Erdem
The first nomine for Best Theme Enforcement would be Jennifer Lopez, stepping on the red carpet in a stunning red Versace gown, showing a Chinese dragon (on the only not-see-through parts). Alexa Chung is the next nominee. The British TV-presenter wore a cute Erdem dress, made out of Chinese fabric. It was pink and had a typical Chinese pattern on it. Third nominee is Mick Jagger's gorgeos daughter and model Georgia May Jagger. She rocked the red carpet in a pink Gucci gown, with a Chinese Dragon embroidered on it. Emily Blunt, the gorgeos actress that starred in the fashion movie "The Devil Wears Prada" wore a gorgoes chinese necked Prada gown with daisies embroidered on it, topped by dark blue cape, that gorgeos dress makes her the fourth nominee in the category Best Theme Enforcement.
Beyoncé in Givenchy
Donatella Versace and Jennifer Lopez

Best See Through

It Seems to be a trend to barely cover anything on red carpets lately, no skin is covered, just only covered by seethrough material. At this year's Met Ball there has been quite a battle of seethroughness, even designer icon Donatella Versace wore a very daringly seethrough dress, obviously designed by herself her dress even reveiled a nipple or two. She is the first nominee for the category Best See Through. The other three nominees would be a the battle of the divas; Beyonce Knowels, Kim Kardashian West and Jennifer Lopez. They all wore pretty similarly scandalously seethrough dresses, Beyoncé in a Givenchy dress having only rhinestones covering the significant parts, Kim K in a see-through Cavalli gown with a long train and Jennifer wearing a red Versace gown, with a dragon covering her.

Best Extravagant

Lady Gaga in Balenciaga
FKA Twigs in Christopher Kane
Sarah J. Parker in H&M
I am pretty certain that Lady Gaga, queen of extravagance will always be seen in the category "Best Extravant" showing up on the Met Balls red carpet in a giant, kimono alike Balenciaga dress. But she has competition. Rihanna, definitely Lady Gaga's trainee in extravagance presented herself on the red carpet with a GIANT yellow Guo Pei coat, definitely not to miss but not quite surpring. One that did surprise us all is our next nominee Sarah Jessica Parker, the Sex And The City star known for her classyness couldn't be overseen with her giant head piece shaped like flames. Below that she wore a black H&M dress with Chinese accessory to suit the evening's theme. Third nominee is FKA Twigs. Robert Pattinsons girlfriend attendet the event in a colorful Christopher Kane dress dress that had some mixture of animals and humans on it, even having a penis on her hip. Definitely extravagant.
Carey Mulligan in Balenciaga

Anne Hatheway in Ralph Lauren

Best Wallflower

I wasn't quite sure what to call this category but I would say it suits it quite well. The "award" for best wallflower, goes to the one person that would attract attention with a really not so flashy dress, simplicity. One example for that would be Anne Hathaway, who, dressed in a really simple golden gown with a hood attended the event. Second nomine is the actress Carey Mulligan. She wore a beautiful black Balenciaga dress, simply falling from her neck which was covered by a beautiful Fred Leighton collier. Number three wallflower is Lily Collins attending the red carpet in her cute Chanel floral dress with a birdcage veil "covering" her face.

New Years Resolution | thought

2014. It was one hell of a year. Sorry to express it like this. In every way there were a lot of happenings. In politics there were the presidential elections in Indonesia, in Culture the escalation of Religion wars, in Economy several plane crashes (one of them just one week ago) and in fashion there were quite a few ups and downs as well.
This post will be a post of only writing since I want to express my thoughts. I must say I wouldn't mind if you dont fully read this.

DENIM | outfit (editorial)

[Denim Jacket: Nassgorju|Top: Taylored|Shoes: Pull&Bear|Sunnies: Ray Ban]

I shot this shoot together with the talented young Photographer Galih Hastosa from Bali. I chose to wear the super cool denim jacket from N.G.K, a Bali based indie brand with really cool stuff.
But I'm quite a fan of Denim clothes in general (as long as you don't wear too much at the same time), depending on how you wear it, it can suit in every situation... (Read on too see more)

Snow Falls | outfit

[Sweater: H&M|Shoes: SISLEY|Shirt: H&M]

On my last vacation in the north of sweden we we're surprisingly hit by the snow. We were prepared, but we did'nt really expect to have snow already since it was only octobre.
But as stubborn as I am, the snow didn't hinder me from wearing what I want to wear.
